In This Defiance - Business As Usual
Length : 3:33
Size : 6.84MB
Genre : Metal/Extreme(ish) Metal
Format : MP3 Lame --alt-preset extreme

If anyone could give this track a ganders we'd like to know what you guys think. It's my bro's band and a different mix of this track should be available in HMV in a few months time! The vocals will be a little bit better!

Constructive critisism would be much appreciated and if it's to your taste their are a shit loads more MP3s at their site:

Noinche this, pig fucker

Some parts are a little too hardcore for my taste, but here is my input. The singer is good (maybe screams a little too extreme) but in the beginning when you also hear the growler in the background it, it don't sound too good. I love when he transitions into normal singing, i love when Opeth does it, sometimes Killswitch. And the stereotypical fast drums where you bang everything could go and more creative one could replace it.

Sounds pretty cool. I like the riffs. My only problem is that the singer's voice is getting real distorted when he growls...it sounds like a cheap mic....I could be wrong. I like his growling better than his singing though. The fast part on the drums could use some improvment as the last person said. Overall I'd say it's a pretty cool song.

opinionated asshole

the writing has nothing amazing going for it, but there's definately nothing wrong with it. i'd give a big thumbs up, the production needs work, but im more the band-wanker type then the type with any real knowledge of sound tech, so i can't give any advice there

I AM THE FUN BLAME MONSTER

not my type of music at all but when the slower stuff kicked in it caught my attention and by the end of the song i was enjoying it. the vocals on the slow stuff... is he intentionally trying to sound weird with the wavering in his voice? im not sure if i like it, but it was at least interesting. overall, id say the structure of the song is the best part.

edit: i just read that this is a studio recording. i am very shamed to hear that because the entire track needs some MAJOR fixing in terms of mastering and quality. i had the impression it was a shitty in-home demo or something as opposed to a "professional" recording job.

I'm making a career of evil.

I like it. My main gripe is fidgety vibrato on the clean vocals. I didn't like the clean sections at all the first time I heard this track, but they grew on me.
